MathCounts, a nationwide enrichment club and competition program for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, is designed to:

  • Excite students about math by providing a fun and challenging experience that rewards their efforts and achievements.
  • Teach young adults to be problem solvers and be coached in accelerated topics such as probability, statistics, linear algebra and polynomials.
  • Demonstrate how math is important to everyday life.
  • Build essential teamwork skills and develop their competitive spirit through interscholastic competitions with surrounding middle skills.

MathCounts meets at Indian Crest Middle School after school every Thursday until 4:00 PM through February in room A217. Mrs. Crim, who teaches math at Indian Crest MS, is the coach and facilitator. At each meeting, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will solve various problems, both individually and as part of a team.
