School Trips
Educational trips are scheduled by teachers. The expenses for the trips are assumed by the student with the consent of the parent. Students may be excluded from school trips for academic deficiencies or disciplinary reasons.

Class Trip / Team Field Trips
We are fortunate that our school community is able to provide IC students with the privilege of learning beyond the classroom. Certainly, this privilege bears responsibility. Those students who are offered the privilege of attending class or field trips must have demonstrated responsible citizenship during the school year. Therefore, we have established the following criteria for providing students with the privilege.

Any student who accumulates any of the following disciplinary consequences, beginning September 4, 2007, will not be permitted to attend any trip, including class trips and team field trips.

  • 1 (one) Out-of-School Suspension
    OR
  • 2 (two) In-School Suspensions
    OR
  • A combination of any 3 (three) consequences:
    • In-School Suspension
    • Office Detentions
    • In-School Suspensions where the student is sent to the ISS room by the teacher
    OR
  • 4 (four) teacher detentions (i.e. lunch, before school, after school, or written)
  • Disciplinary referral, with an administrative assigned disciplinary consequence, resulting from misconduct on any prior field trip.
  • Other circumstances as deemed by the Indian Crest administration could result in a student not participating in a class trip or team field trip.
The expectation is that students who travel outside of IC, whether it be for academics, athletic or other pursuits, represent IC as a school community that emphasizes highest standards of academic achievement and citizenship.

The eighth and ninth grade class trips will be scheduled in May 2008. Look for more specific information in the forthcoming months regarding the dates and destinations of the class trips.

Eighth grade team field trips are planned throughout the school year by teams Alpha, Delta, Omega, Phi, and Sigma. Information regarding the dates and destinations of these field trips will be disseminated by the team(s) facilitating the trip.

*** Please note: All forms, money, and other pertinent information pertaining to any educational trip must be submitted by the specified due date and time. If the forms, money, and pertinent information are not submitted by the specified date and time, the student will not be permitted to attend the educational trip. ***
