6th Grade Welcome Information
Welcome to Indian Crest Middle School! We are excited for the upcoming school year. This information is to help you and your child prepare for the first day of middle school.
Our Web site is a great tool for information. You can find Summer Reading Information, Upcoming Events, School Calendar and the latest news and announcements. Also, on the website is our school handbook including the school dress code.
Included in the e-mail is information on accessing and reading our schedule, and information regarding touring the building, orientation, and Family Day.

Schedule Information
All student schedules will be available on Home Access Center on Monday, August 7th. Students can log in and view their schedule. In 6th grade, students will have 4 core classes (ELA, Social Studies, Math, Science), Advisory, Lunch, and Related Arts.
Lunch for 6th grade is 11:15-11:45 between blocks 3 and 4.
Advisory is where all students will start their day for the first two weeks of school. Beginning September 11th, Advisory will take place on Monday only. The rest of the week students will be in Focus activities. We will share additional information on selecting Focus activities at a later date.
Students who did not select music will have Physical Education, Guidance, Health, Technology Education, Art, Digital Citizenship, and Family and Consumer Science (FCS).
Students who did select music (Chorus, Band, Orchestra) will have Physical Education, Guidance and 3 additional related arts classes.
If there is an error on your schedule related to music or related arts, we can easily fix it. Please just email your child’s counselor.

We put time and thought into team placement and balancing teams. All teams have students of all abilities and from all elementary schools. We will not change student teams at this point.

Tours
Our building will be open Monday through Thursday, 8:30-3:00 beginning August 7th through August 22nd. We are closed for tours on Fridays. Tours are self-guided, and students must be accompanied by an adult. Please note our maintenance team is still working on preparing for opening day and some parts of the building could be closed. When visiting Indian Crest, please enter through the main office.
6th Grade Family Day
We invite all our 6th grade students and their families to join us for a casual social gathering. This is a great opportunity to meet principals, teachers, and other 6th grade families. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 23rd, 3:00-5:00PM on our football field. More information to follow.
Orientation
6th Grade Orientation is Friday, August 25th, 9:00-12:00. Students who are bussers can ride the school bus for orientation. This event is for Indian Crest 6th grade students only. Additional information will be shared regarding orientation.
