Important Information for this School Year: Expectations, protocols, and more
We have had a great to start to the school year and are finally settling into our new routines, classes, and schedules. This week all students attended a Team Town Hall Meeting. The goal of town hall meetings in middle school is to have open dialogue with students, share expectations, discuss protocols, and provide time for questions. With the opening of the school year, there were many topics to cover including our PBIS, Bullying Protocols, highlights from the middle school handbook, dress code, electronics, Safe to Say, and ALICE.
PBIS is a Positive Behavior Intervention & Support plan. Please watch a brief video highlighting Indian Crest's PBIS.
We encourage parents to review the District Handbook. We reviewed with students where to locate it online and highlighted key points.
We are an Electronics Free School. While students may bring their cell phone to school, it may not be used during the school day. Students should turn their phone off upon entering the building and store it in their backpack or locker until the bell at 2:45PM. Cell phones are a distraction to learning and take away from the focus of students. We appreciate your support in this area. Cell phones that are seen during the school day will be confiscated and turned into the office for the day.
As always thank you for partnering with us during your child's middle school years.
